Syllabus and Rules
Living Earth is a standards-based science class that addresses the following topics: Ecology, Cell Biology, Genetics, Physiology, and Evolution, plus some Earth Science topics.
Technical Requirements:
To enhance our learning and understanding, we will be using Chromebooks and Google Classroom in class. You are required to use your District device and your District login.
Online Interactions:
You will also partake in various types of online interactions including, but not limited to, discussion boards, blogs and Google Document collaborations.

Assessments: All assignments will be graded based on presentation, completeness, accuracy, quality, comprehension and idea development. Grading Scale:
A= 90%-100% D= 60%-69% B= 80%-89% F= 59% and below C= 70%-79% |

You are expected to complete your own work. Copying other students’ work is unacceptable and will result in a zero grade and a phone call home. Plagiarism will not be tolerated. Please refer to the presentation below for details about plagiarism and cheating.
- Behave like a college-bound student and use academic language.
- Always be respectful.
- Talk to Mrs. Nation in private if a problem occurs.
- If you are absent, you MUST make up your missing work. That may require you come in outside of class to complete it.
- Any DUE assignments are still due, even if you are absent, with one exception. If you are absent the day something is assigned, then you have an additional day to complete it.
- Lectures, tests/quizzes,and homework must all be made up during Office Hours.
- Each student is assigned a Glencoe Biology book from the library. It is your responsibility to pick it up.
